The Institute of Shipping Management (ISM), an independent
non-profit making professional organization, was established
in 1977.
To promote and establish the status of qualified shipping
personnel in commercial organizations and industries
To promote the interests of the shipping communities and the
development of improved methods in the shipping trade
To stimulate and promote the interest of shipping personnel
to acquire higher qualification in modern shipping
To hold conferences and meetings for the discussion of
professional affairs, interests and duties, the reading of
papers, and the delivery of lectures; to compile and revise
registers of the Institute, to issue copies of such papers,
lectures and professional records from time to time to
Members of the Institute, and generally to collect, and
publish information of services or such interests to members
of the profession or similar business and the public at
large
To do such other lawful things as are conducive and
incidental to the attainment of the objects and welfare of
the Members, including affiliation.
